Adaptogen: my new favorite word. They are plants that help bring balance to the body. In a world of stress and escalated cortisol levels, they are a big part of my wellness arsenal!

Adrenal fatigue is no joke. Hormonal changes are no joke. I need to pamper my adrenal glands in a huge way. This is one of them! This is a drink of Ashwagandha (aka Indian Gingsing) in a cup of coconut milk and tart cherry juice that i found on the Cream and Honey blog.  It’s the perfect drink to have before bed.

You’ll need:

1/2 cup tart cherry juice
1/2 cup almond milk
1/4 cup coconut milk (from can)
1/2 teaspoon lavender (mountain rose herbs | starwest botanicals | amazon)
1 teaspoon raw honey (or maple/agave)
1/2 teaspoon ashwagandha powder (mountain rose herbs | starwest botanicals | amazon)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
pinch of himalayan pink salt (mountain rose herbs | amazon)

In a small pot/pan, add almond milk, coconut milk, tart cherry juice, honey, vanilla, ashwagandha, and salt. Whisk until combined. Heat over medium until simmering. Remove from heat and add lavender. Cover with lid and let steep for 5 minutes. Pour into mug over a strainer to remove the lavender. Blend in blender if you prefer the drink more foamy.

You’re worth some self-care mama!
