My recovery from adrenal fatigue wasn’t easy—but it was absolutely life-changing. It transformed not just my hormones, but also my energy, emotions, and even my relationships. I didn’t realize just how depleted I was until I started truly nourishing my body with what it needed most: rest, support, and minerals.

So whenever I come across a new take on the classic adrenal cocktail, I’m all in—especially if pineapple is involved (you only have to say it once)!

So What Is Adrenal Fatigue?

Adrenal fatigue can occur when the body is under chronic stress, which disrupts the natural rhythm of cortisol—our main stress hormone. For me, the symptoms were hard to ignore:

  • Brain fog

  • Irritability

  • Mood swings

  • Weight gain

  • Poor sleep

  • Hormonal imbalances

  • Deep, persistent fatigue

My naturopath introduced me to Adrenal Fatigue: The 21st Century Stress Syndrome by James Wilson, and it was the first time I felt truly seen. She also guided me to cut out caffeine, add more nourishing whole foods, try gentle yoga, and explore herbal adaptogens. That’s when I discovered adrenal cocktails—simple, mineral-rich drinks that help replenish what stress depletes.

She adjusted my diet, cut out caffeine & encouraged me to take yoga. I learned about different herbs called “adaptogens” that help the body adapt to stress and I learned about adrenal cocktails! They are so simple to make and really delicous.

This Pineapple Citrus Adrenal Cocktail is a Favorite—Here’s Why It Works:

🍊 Orange, Lemon & Lime – These citrus fruits are packed with vitamin C, which supports adrenal function and helps reduce oxidative stress. They also contain natural sugars that provide a gentle energy lift without spiking blood sugar.

🍍 Pineapple – A sweet, tropical source of enzymes and vitamin C, pineapple supports digestion and provides an anti-inflammatory boost. It also adds a delicious balance to the tart citrus.

🥥 Coconut Water – Rich in potassium and electrolytes, it helps rehydrate the body and replenish minerals that are often depleted by stress or caffeine.

🧂 Celtic Sea Salt – Contains over 70 trace minerals. This supports adrenal health by aiding electrolyte balance and hydration.

✨ Cream of Tartar – A natural source of potassium, it’s great for replenishing this key mineral that the adrenals depend on to function properly.

🍹 How to Make It:

Ingredients:

  • Juice of 1 lemon, 1 lime, and 1 orange

  • 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks (or juice)

  • 1/2 cup coconut water

  • 1/2 tsp Celtic sea salt

  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar

  • Ice

Instructions:

Juice the citrus and pineapple. I use a Nutribullet juicer, but a blender and cheesecloth work too.

In a mason jar, combine 1/2 cup of juice with 1/2 cup coconut water.

Stir in the Celtic sea salt and cream of tartar.

Add ice, mix well, and sip your way to steady energy and better mood!

This cocktail became a little ritual of care for me—a small but powerful way to tell my body, “You’re safe. You’re supported.” And that’s something worth celebrating.
