My recovery from adrenal fatigue was not easy. It was, however, the best thing i ever could have done for my hormones, my emotions, and my relationships!

Whenever I see a new twist on my beloved adrenal cocktail I have to give it a shot. You don’t have to say pineapple to me twice!

So what is adrenal fatigue? Put simply, it’s when the body is under prolonged periods of stress that lead to an inconsistent level of cortisol, aka, the stress hormone. I was diagnosed by my naturopath who recommended I read Adrenal Fatigue: the 21st Century Stress Syndrome by James Wilson. It validated and explained so much of what I had been going through! My symptoms included:
  • brain fog
  • irritability
  • moodiness
  • weight gain
  • not sleeping well
  • hormonal imbalance
  • chronic fatigue
She adjusted my diet, cut out caffeine & encouraged me to take yoga. I learned about different herbs called “adaptogens” that help the body adapt to stress and I learned about adrenal cocktails! They are so simple to make and really delicous. To make this one you’ll need:
First you need to juice the citrus and pineapple. I have a nutribullet juicer, but any juicer will do. Or you can use your vitamix and then strain the juice through some cheesecloth. To a mason jar, add 1/2 cup of the juice and 1/2 cup coconut water. Add 1/2 tsp each celtic sea salt and cream of tartar. Add ice. Stir and enjoy!
