As I began exploring the many benefits of turmeric, I knew I had to find simple ways to weave it into my daily routine. One of my favorite discoveries is Golden Milk—a warm, comforting turmeric latte that not only calms the mind before bed but also supports the body by easing inflammation and stress.

Turmeric is often celebrated as one of the most powerful herbs on the planet, and with good reason. Its active compound, curcumin, has been the subject of countless studies for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Just a quick search and you’ll find an abundance of research highlighting its healing potential.

This vibrant spice has been a cornerstone of both Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years. Known as “the golden spice,” turmeric is instantly recognizable by its radiant yellow-orange hue—a color that seems to embody the warmth and vitality it brings to the body.

Turmeric also pairs beautifully with other warming spices, creating the perfect golden latte to savor. Each one offers its own unique benefits:

  • Ginger – Gently stimulates digestion, eases nausea, and provides powerful anti-inflammatory support.

  • Cinnamon – Naturally helps balance blood sugar levels and delivers a comforting sweetness without added sugar.

  • Nutmeg – Contains antioxidants and compounds that may support relaxation and promote restful sleep.

Sipping on a golden milk latte is more than just a cozy nighttime ritual. It’s a way to nourish yourself with ancient wisdom, bringing gentle support to an overworked body and a mind that longs for stillness. Whether you enjoy it as part of your evening wind-down or as a mid-day moment of care, this golden drink is a simple, delicious way to infuse your life with everyday healing.

First make sure you have your spices on hand:

Ready to get started? To make it you’ll need:

1 cup of your favorite milk
1/4 cup coconut cream
1 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp ceylon cinnamon powder
1/4 tsp ginger powder
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
pinch of black pepper
pinch of ground nutmeg
pinch of ground cardamom
Sweetener (maple syrup, date syrup, honey, etc) if desired and to taste

Add the milk and coconut cream to a sauce pan. Gently whisk in the spices and warm over medium low heat. Remove from heat, pour mixture into a mug and add sweetener of you’d like.

If you don’t want to measure out all the spices each time you make one, you can make your own blend or grab one from my shop.
