There’s something special about slowing down with a beautiful drink that’s as nourishing as it is refreshing. This Cherry Hibiscus Elderberry Hydration Elixir combines vibrant fruits, mineral-rich hydration, and botanical ingredients into a delicious daily ritual. It’s lightly tart, naturally refreshing, and perfect for warm afternoons, post-workout hydration, or whenever you’re craving something a little more special than plain water.

How to Make Hibiscus Tea
One of the stars of this hydration elixir is hibiscus tea. Its vibrant ruby-red color and pleasantly tart flavor pair beautifully with cherry, lime, and elderberry.
Using Loose Hibiscus Flowers (Recommended)
Ingredients
2 tablespoons dried hibiscus flowers
2 cups (16 oz) filtered water
My Favorite Way to Brew Herbal Tea
When I’m making hibiscus tea (or just about any herbal infusion), I use a glass teapot with a built-in stainless steel strainer. It makes brewing loose herbs incredibly simple—just add the herbs, pour over hot water, steep, and lift out the infuser when it’s ready. Cleanup is quick, and I love being able to watch the beautiful ruby color of the hibiscus develop as it steeps.
If you’re looking for an easy way to brew loose-leaf herbal teas, this is the teapot I use and recommend,
Directions
Bring the water to a boil. Place the dried hibiscus flowers in a heat-safe jar, teapot, or French press. Pour the hot water over the herbs. Cover and steep for 15–20 minutes, depending on how bold you like the flavor.
Strain out the herbs and allow the tea to cool completely. Refrigerate until chilled before using in your hydration elixir.
This recipe yields about 12–16 ounces of tea, depending on how much liquid the herbs absorb.
Using Hibiscus Tea Bags
If you don’t have loose hibiscus flowers, tea bags work wonderfully too.
Ingredients
2 hibiscus tea bags
2 cups (16 oz) filtered water
Directions
Bring the water to a boil. Pour the hot water over the tea bags. Cover and steep for 10–15 minutes.
Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool completely. Refrigerate until chilled before adding it to your hydration elixir.
Pro Tip
I like to brew a larger batch at the beginning of the week and keep it in a glass pitcher in the refrigerator. That way, it’s ready whenever I want to mix up one of my hydration elixirs. It also makes a refreshing iced herbal tea all on its own with a squeeze of fresh lime.
Directions
Add the collagen peptides and superbelly packet to your tumbler. Pour in the cherry juice and coconut water, stirring until the powders dissolve.
Add the elderberry tincture, lime juice, and lime zest. Pour in the chilled hibiscus tea and mineral water.
Fill the tumbler with ice and top off with filtered water. Stir well and enjoy immediately.
Why These Ingredients?
Every ingredient in this elixir has been chosen to support hydration while adding natural flavor and plant-based goodness.
Collagen Peptides
Collagen peptides dissolve easily into cold beverages without changing the flavor. They’re a simple way to incorporate collagen into your daily routine and are popular among those looking to support healthy skin, hair, nails, joints, and connective tissues as part of an overall balanced lifestyle.
Elderberry Tincture
An elderberry tincture offers a convenient way to enjoy elderberries in a concentrated liquid form. Adding a dropperful enhances the berry flavor and makes this drink feel like a true herbal ritual.
Cherry Juice
Cherry juice contributes a rich, slightly tart sweetness along with naturally occurring polyphenols and antioxidants. Its bold flavor pairs beautifully with hibiscus and elderberry.
Lime Juice & Lime Zest
Fresh lime brightens the entire drink with refreshing citrus notes. The juice provides vitamin C, while the fragrant zest contains aromatic essential oils that elevate both the flavor and aroma.
Hibiscus Tea
Hibiscus creates the gorgeous ruby-red color that makes this drink so inviting. Naturally tart and refreshing, hibiscus tea is rich in anthocyanins and other antioxidant compounds that make it a favorite in herbal beverages.
Coconut Water
Often called nature’s sports drink, coconut water contains naturally occurring electrolytes, including potassium, making it a refreshing addition to hydration drinks after spending time outdoors or enjoying physical activity.
Mineral Water
Mineral water adds gentle effervescence while supplying naturally occurring minerals like calcium and magnesium, depending on the source. The bubbles also make this hydration elixir feel a little more celebratory.
Filtered Water
Never underestimate good water. It forms the foundation of this recipe, helping keep you hydrated while allowing the flavors of the herbs and fruit to shine.

Make It Your Own
One of my favorite things about hydration elixirs is how easy they are to customize. Try adding:
- Fresh mint leaves for a cooling finish
- A few frozen cherries instead of ice
- A squeeze of orange instead of lime
- A few drops of trace mineral concentrate
A Simple Daily Ritual
Hydration doesn’t have to be boring. Turning a simple glass of water into an herbal ritual is one of the easiest ways to care for yourself throughout the day. The combination of tart hibiscus, rich cherry, bright lime, and elderberry creates a refreshing beverage that’s both beautiful and enjoyable to sip.
Here’s to slowing down, staying hydrated, and looking to nature first.
