i got hooked on the idea of having bucket lists fr

i got hooked on the idea of having bucket lists from @darling_desi_ . it really helps me stay intentional and focused on my favorite things about a given season.

autumn is without a doubt, my most favorite! here are some things i'm planning. please feel free to use this as is or as an inspiration to create your own list.

mine include:
+ thrifting a cozy sweater - specifically inspired by gilmore girls
+ bake fall cookies - i'm thinking sugar cookies with a maple glaze
+ make soup from scratch
+ cozy up with a good book - probably something witchy
+ collect fall leaves - probably wax some and make a garland
+ visit a pumpkin patch
+ do a pinecone craft - thinking of making them smell like cinnamon!
+ take a fall hike
+ make fire cider - boosting immunity is always a good idea
+ watch practical magic - love this movie
+ make a pumpkin treat
+ diffuse a fall fragrance
+ get fall nails
+ go apple picking
+ buy cozy socks
+ visit a new cafe
+ make a fall bouquet

Have you read Grimoire Girl by @hilarieburton ? It's an eye opening easy read that talks about introspection and the realization that you've probably been a bit magical all along and just didn't realize it.

One of the things she talks about is creating a space of things that inspire you, that delight you and that helps you center yourself and feel known.

I created my apothecary space to do just that. I have my herbs, my owls, a butterfly pic in a thrifted frame to remind myself that i'm always growing, a mustard color teapot that i also thrifted, books galore, crystals, a bowl of dove feathers from my backyard, a few sage sticks and palo santo and a hawk feather left for me in the yard.

I smile every single time I look at it. I feel my shoulders relax. I feel connected. It sparks joy.

the aftermath of hurricane helene for us meant some yardwork and fortunately that was the extent of it. there were trees everywhere totally uprooted from the ground!

this week’s meal prep wasn’t as “extra” as i like to normally do them due to the lack of ingredients available in the store because of the hurricane. I’m thankful, however, that we are safe and able to grab what we could.

The menu included:
cinnamon apple pie chia pudding
pumpkin oatmeal bars
breakfast protein bisquits
greek chickpea and white bean salad
mason jar salad with greens, beans and chicken
hard boiled eggs

i was about 18 when i realized i was a flower child at heart.

i had no idea all these years later that that meant i want to live on a piece of land, have goats, donkeys and chickens and grow my own food. herbalism and food are my jam!

now that i know that's the direction we want to move towards I remain in suburbia making plant magic in my home.

the classes from @herbalacademy are priceless in teaching me nature and how to use them for our overall wellbeing. I'm so thankful.

Yesterday I was feeling a bit run down and had a hunch I was on my way to coming down with something.

So when I got home from work I went into full fight mode! First, I brewed a pot of my immuni-tea blend with some oranges and honey in my special mug given to me by @erinjpottery. I took a hot of my fire cider. I rolled my immunity blend from @farandwildoils onto my feet and crawled into bed and took a nap.

The kettle my husband gave me a few years is still one of my most beloved tools. And the honey dispenser is easy peasy and no stickiness!

I asked my son to cook dinner. He made an amazing steak fried rice which I devoured. We watched an episode of Ted Lasso while we ate which gave us all a smile.

Then I went upstairs to take a hot bath. I added 2 cups of epsom salt, 1 cup of baking soda and a few teaspoons of ground ginger. I soaked for 30 minutes.

Lastly, I took a softgel cap from @discoverelief, drank a lot of water, rolled the immunity roller onto my feet again and conked out.

This morning I brewed more tea, rolled the immunity blend on my feet again and took another shot of fire cider. Today I’m also going to make some elderberry syrup.

What I’ve found most successful is being very aggressive with my wellness tools to help my body fight. In order to do that, I have to make sure my wellness arsenal is ready to go.
